Spring Break Ireland Trip!!! Part Two!!

Hey! Ill pick up where I left off...

4/16
We woke up early Thursday morning and got on a bus to the ferry that would take us over to the Aran Islands. It took us about 45 minutes to arrive at the largest of the Aran Islands, Inishmor. Once we arrived, we were all given a bike for our mode of transport and a map of the island. I mainly rode around with Beka, Keeley, Allison, Adena, and Jim. We had a lot of fun riding and exploring the island. We went to Dun Aengus which is a spot on the island with huge cliffs. It was so fun to walk around and take pictures there. The rest of the day was spent riding my bike and stopping to take pictures. I had a great time and really enjoyed it. We took the 5pm ferry back and then got on the bus to Galway. Once we got back to the hostel we went and got stuff for dinner, including a huge chocolate cake. I couldn't even finish my piece. It was a really great day. We went to bed that night excited for what we would be doing the next day.the ferryAllison, Beka, and me on the ferryIrelandthey like to keep the ferry clean (notice the mop sticking out off the boat)Adena, Russell, Jenny, Me, and Beka on the ferryMore IrelandWatch the horizon lineKeep watchingThe end... hahathe Aran Island of InishmorHouse with a thatched roofInishmorBeautifulBeka, Allison, and Keeley on a break from bike ridingDun AengusIt looked at methe huge cliffsAdena, Allison, Jim, Keeley, Beka, Me, Dani, Jenny, and Amanda on the cliffsMe on the cliffsMe and Beka on the cliffsThe cliffsMe and KeeleyKeeley, Allison, Me, Beka, and AdenaAllison, Adena, Keeley, Tecwyn, Me and Bekathe beachbeachTEXAS!!!Allison, Beka, and I representing the lone star stateJim and AdenaKeeley, Adena, and Jim... supporting IowaMe jumping on the beachMy artistic picture for the daymama and baby cowbike path.. hahaSealsKeeley, Adena, Me and Russell looking at the sealscountrysidebeach picture

Friday morning we were able to sleep a little later and that was nice. We got on the bus at 10am and made our way to the Burren. Before we got there we stopped at Dunguarie Castle and had a small tour and were able to walk through. This castle was cool because it was built by a wealthy family and mainly stood as a reminder of the wealth the family had. It was lived in until very recently but it is now used for tours and every two weeks they host a banquet inside.Adena and Allison on the busMe and Beka on the busthe castlewell....the castle againdinning roomdoor way with coat of armsanother room with a fire placewell...painting roomstage inside the dinning roomview from the topanother view from the topme at the toplooking through a window at the top

Next we finally arrived inside the Burren and went to Aillwee Caves. The caves are really cool and we were able to go on a tour inside. It was really dark and creepy but it was really fun.the entrance to the cavesinside the cavebear bonesinside the cavethere was a bear inside the cave! Ahhhhh! hehehuge stalagtites Me inside the cave

After we left the caves we were able to see the stereotypical landscape of the Burren as we traveled to Pulnabrone. Pulnabrone was really cool to see and read about. It is a megalithic tomb. After we saw the tomb we went back to Galway and got to shop around for the rest of the day. After shopping for a while we ate dinner and then we went back to the hostel and hung out playing cards until it was time for bed.The Burrenand againand again :)well...the tombthe tomb againa close up of the ground in the BurrenThe guys infront of the tomb: Steve, Tecwyn, Russ, Tyler, Jim, and SteveAdena and I infront of the tomb

Saturday morning we woke up and got on the bus for Dublin and the ferry. We arrived at the ferry and had to wait about 3 hours because the ferry time was delayed and then because a man had a heart attack. We finally got back to Bangor around 6pm. It was a really fun trip and I am very glad we were able to take it.

Sunday, Monday, and today have been full of doing homework, going to class, and filling out forms for TLU. I am currently uptodate on everything. I am also really excited about OP on thursday becasue the weather is supposed to be really nice. Well I guess I will talk to all of you later!

Have a great day!!!
