tea time

Hey! What up?

The cookies that we made Wednesday night were awesome! There was about 8 or 9 of us all in the kitchen making cookies. It was pretty crazy but it also really fun! I finally made it to the library and checked out the book I needed. Now, all I have to do is read it.

The last half of this week has been pretty exciting. On Thursday I went down to the pier with my friends Russell, Adena, and Jim. We had tea! I had a raisin scone (they were out of all the other flavors) and a hot chocolate. It was so good!My hot cocoa! It was soooo good!!!This is the raisin scone I ate. It was pretty world famous! The sign out in front saying that they have famous scones!Me with Russell and Jim in front of the tea room.

After the pier we made our way down to high street and walked around for a while before we needed to be at our outdoor pursuits meeting. During this free time we decided to check out Bangor Cathedral. That was an amazing experience. Right when we walked in we could hear a man playing the piano and he played just about the entire time we were in there. I have been to a lot of churches in the UK but this was the first one that felt holy to me. I do not know why that is but it was a really cool feeling.

After we felt the cathedral we headed straight to our outdoor pursuits meeting. That was very informational and I am so excited to start that class this week! It should be really fun!

On Friday I went to my first theology class called The Global Christ. I think this class will be different considering I'm used to studying biology. Our professor had a PowerPoint of a lot of different pictures of Jesus from all other the world. That is pretty much what my class is about, how Jesus is viewed by people in all different parts of the world. It should be really interesting.

After class I went down to the student union to Serendipity, the society and clubs fair. The place was packed with people! I joined the volleyball club and the zoological society.

After that I had class at 3. I went to my animal behavior class and it was really interesting and I cant wait to find out more. (Oh I'm such a dork.) I love school! YAY!

Later that night Adena joined me to go check out the zoological society. There was a speaker and he talked about Madagascar and how people there are trying to rebuild and protect the forests and animals there. His lecture was really interesting but the one thing I did not like was that he kept referring to random Americans in his lecture as "Rich Americans". He said it about 7 or 8 times and I got a little offended. He did not even know the people who he was talking about he was just referring to all Americans as rich and not with a good connotation. I am willing to try out the zoological society again but hopefully that guest lecturer would not be back.

Saturday was a very exciting day! First a group of us went and visited the Bangor museum. We needed to visit that for our Over Here class and thought we would just get it out of the way. It was really cool. It had art work and upstairs there was a lot of old things, for lack of a better word, that people used here in Bangor. An old recliner made from wood from trees in the Snowdonia forests. A poster up in the museum stating what is Welshness! I took a picture in case it would help me in class. :)

After the museum we hopped on a train to Llandudno Junction to see a movie! It was only about a 15 minute trip and the movie theatre was easy to find. I think next time we wont come so early because we had to wait about 2 hours for the movie to start. In order to waste time we went to McDonald's and I got a happy meal and the toy that came with it was a mini Trivial Pursuit game board. So we all played. I took up about an hour and I was on the winning team! WOOO!!! Then after wasting another hour we finally saw our movie. We saw Valkyrie and it was pretty good. I was impressed! After the movie we hopped back on the train and headed back to Bangor. It was a good day and now I am way more comfortable with riding the train! The train was so crowed on our way up a couple of us had to stand. This is Dani, Rebecca, Allison, and Jim.Our Trivial Pursuit game board at McDonald's.Cine World!!! Go movie theatre!!!

Today is Sunday and it has been very relaxing! I got up kinda early and went to the grocery store. After that I came back and whipped up some banana bread! It is quite tasty if I don't say so myself. After that I went down to go try out volleyball which I had signed up for on Friday and when I got there the girl told me it was cancelled for today. I was pretty bummed but then she said they would have it next Sunday from 2-5. So now I cant wait for that.

That's pretty much all that has happened since I last talked to y'all. I am supposed to go down and have Sunday dinner with Russell and his flat mates. I hope it fun and everything tastes great.

I hope everyone has a great day!!!
