Indoor Rock Climbing

Hello again everyone!

I just thought I would do a quick update on everything that has been going on until now.

This past Wednesday was not really exciting. I mainly just did homework and relax before OP.

On Thursday morning I woke up and was really excited about my OP class because we were either supposed to go sailing, surfing, or sea level traversing. The moment I looked out the window I realized we would not be doing any of those things because it was raining like crazy. Once we got outside to the minibus our instructor, James, told us that we would be indoor rock climbing and maybe we would take a short hike on our way back to the Conway Center.

We collected everything we needed from the Conway Center and drive to Beacon Climbing Center just outside Llanberis. It was so much fun climbing up the rock walls and I made it my goal to make it to the top every time. I succeeded! I also tried climbing up a wall using an automatic belay device and it was scary the first time but after it was a lot of fun!The climbing centerThe group as we wait for instructions (James, Kristen, Danielle, Me, Dani, Jenny, and Steve)Climbing along the wall trying not to use our hands (Danielle, Kristen, Me, and Dani)Steve showing us how to boulderOne of the climbing wallsMy group (Me, Danielle, and Adena)Me at lunchAdena and Dani at lunchOur instructors at lunch (Steve and James)The rest of the group at lunchAdena and Jenny climbing up the high wallMe climbing up the wall with the automatic belayerMe and Meghan climbing up the high wallKristen bouldering and Steve watching from below

After climbing indoors we drove to a trail and took a small hike and went and saw a castle. This part of the day was really fun. This was a great day at OP.

On Friday I went to class and then prepared for my mom and dad to come. I cleaned my room and caught up on homework.

Saturday morning I woke up and caught the train to Llandudno Junction and once I arrived I was greeted by my mom and dad. We then drove back to Bangor and spring break had officially started! I will update later on everything we will do while my mom and dad are here. This should be a really good two weeks!!!

A friendly weekend!

Hello again everyone!

Just updating about my weekend and the week so far!

Well, Friday night my roommate from TLU who is studying abroad in London, Valerie, came to stay with me. We had a great time. Friday night we pretty much stayed up and talked about stuff. For some reason we can talk for hours and it does not seem like any time has passed. That's how it was this past fall too but our suitemate, Lauren, was also always in on the conversation too.

On Saturday, I gave Valerie the tour of Bangor. We went to the pier and had tea. That was really fun. We also went on high street, up to the Main Arts building, the Roman camp, the Standing Stones, and the to Morrisons for dinner. We walked all day long and once we got back to my room we had to sit down and take a break for a while. After that we made dinner and it was very good. Then we hung out that night and watched a couple of movies, talking the entire time with our own commentary. It was pretty sweet.

Sunday morning we woke up and made breakfast tacos. Then Valerie got ready and I walked her down to the train station so she could get back to London in time to do some homework.Tea room on the pierMenu at tea roomBoat Valerie wanted me to try on hatsanother hatwe are fansbangor cathedralmain arts buildingstanding stonesme and Valerieour breadmaking dinnervalerie cooking

It was a great weekend and I had an awesome time!

The rest of this week has been full of classes and I cannot wait for Saturday to come because my mom and dad are coming for my spring break. It should be soooo much fun!!!

I have OP tomorrow and I have absolutely no idea what we will be doing. It is a choice between three activities: sailing, surfing, and sea level traversing. All three sound fun and I cannot wait to find out what we will be doing! Wish me luck and Ill let you know soon what we will do tomorrow.

OP and the Sea!

HEY!

I hope everyone is doing well and I thought I would update everyone on my OP class this past Thursday!!

Thursday morning when we got to the Conway Center we were told that we would not be able to go sailing because there was no wind and sailing without wind is not very fun! So we went kayaking instead! It was so fun! We went out on the sea between Holyhead and Ireland. We were told that if we kept paddling straight we would run into Ireland but we did not do that. We went around a small island right off the coast and then we were able to go through some tight spaces between rocks right next to the mainland. It was so much fun! I think that was my favorite OP so far!!!

After we were done we had to change out of our wetsuits and I looked pretty crazy after I changed clothes. haha I also got to capsize in my boat so I would know what to do in case I ever flipped over by accident before! The water was so cold but I had to grab the opportunity.Dani and Adena during lunch time! A bunch of the other girls are in the background!Adena and I on our lunch break! Our kayaks! The beach and water!Adena after being thrown in the water! My awesome style after we changed out of our wetsuits!

It was a good day!

Friday was full of classes and I even had an extra one than normal. I had a make up class for my Ecology and Evolution class. The day went by really fast and then Valerie came to visit me! She stayed with me all weekend! But that we will have to be for a later blog this week! Talk to you all soon!

Walk around Bangor and the first part of this week!

HEY!

On Sunday I went on a walk all around Bangor. First I climbed Bangor mountain, it is really not a mountain. It is more like a tall hill and the view from there was awesome. After that I went and saw the Roman Camp again and I saw the Standing Stones. It was a fun day and I took tons of pictures of the town. The view walking down to classes from my dormsCatholic church on Ffriddoedd RdFar away view of Bangor mountainFirst part of bitch hillSecond part of bitch hillMain arts building also known as Harry Potter BuildingStudents Union and Main Arts BuildingI was walking up the trail to the top of Bangor mountain and I did not know which path to takeI made it to the top!Another cool view from the topView 1View 2View 3View 4View 5View 6View 7Me smiling at the top!The mountains! On Monday, I went to my first class and it ended up getting canceled because the projector was not working. Now, I have that class on Friday to make up for the missed class. The rest of my classes on Monday went very well.

Today is Tuesday and I only had one class today and it went very smoothly. I am working on trying to get all of my homework finished before spring break. My goal for tomorrow is to have started my essay for the theology class.

I have been having a wonderful week. I am really excited for this weekend because my roommate from TLU, Valerie, is coming to visit me. I am so excited and cannot wait for Friday!

I am also excited about OP this week because the Tuesday group that went today went sailing. That most likely means that we will be sailing on Thursday! I cannot wait! YAY! This week is a good week!

Have a great day everybody! and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
